007 Singles and Doubles Tournament

Posted: 8th June 2021

A tournament is being hosted at Swavesey in memory of Ted Shaw, who sadly passed away earlier this year, Ted was the 7th member of Cambridge Squash Club back in 1979 and used to run a regular 007 doubles tournament. Ted will be sadly missed but we hope this tournament will honour his memory and contribution to the club over last 42 years.

Both tournaments run across 10-11th July 2021

007 Doubles Tournament

The doubles event will be an open event. We do not recommend entering the doubles if you have not played doubles before; however, if you are keen to learn, we will be running some doubles taster sessions, so let me know if you want to be involved in these!

If you are keen to enter the doubles, but don’t have a partner, don’t worry! Just let us know you are keen and I’ll pair you up with someone appropriate.

007 Singles Tournament

The singles will be graded, and the level will be capped. Those in league 3 or higher (or equivalent) will not be able to enter the singles. (We would encourage these players to consider playing the doubles.)

There is no requirement to be a member at Swavesey for this event and entry for Cambridge Squash Club or Swavesey Members is £10 for the doubles and £5 for the singles. Non-members are welcome at £15 and £8 respectively.

Entries will be limited, so be in touch asap to make sure you are able to play!

Our thanks go to Swavesey for kindly hosting this event.
