With the end of squash restrictions we can now restart the Evening leagues, now based at Swavesey.
For those of you who don’t know what a box league is, the idea is that you will be grouped with around 4-5 players of a similar standard and you arrange matches with these players over the course of a month. You record your score (just the games, not the points) and input it so that at the end of the month, the winners from the box get promoted, and the losers get relegated, so that everyone ends up playing players of their own level each month.
It is a great way to meet new people to play with (you can arrange as many friendlies as you like outside of the league!) and although it’s competitive, it’s still fun and light-hearted with the emphasis being on getting good games rather than winning or losing.
I will aim to start these on June 1st, so please let me know if you are keen to be involved! Please don’t be put off by being rusty or thinking you aren’t good enough – there will be leagues for every level from complete beginner to the top players in the club!
The leagues will be based at Swavesey squash club, and to enter you need to be a Swavesey member. Please email [email protected] to enter the leagues.
